Aim of the Course
The importance of achieving targets. Clients, management and staff expect effective management to get the right results. We therefore need to manage our staff in a fair and consistent manner. Tackling under performance is an important organisational responsibility. This can be done informally at a line management level. However, there are occasions when formal discipline must be used.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Recognise company policy and procedures and legal responsibilities
- Describe the role of ACAS and Employment tribunals
- Conduct a professional interviews at all stages of the disciplinary procedure
- Identify the the role of the employee companion/union representative
- Recognise the importance of factual evidence relating to the said misconduct
- Create the appropriate structure for the interview
- Use various questioning and listening techniques to gain the fuller picture
- Recognise the importance of accurate note-taking
- Deal with emotion and sensitive issues during the process
